Colledge played the best on the OL two years ago...

Last year he sucked... but people are hating on him like they did on Collins before Collins was able to step up the last two years....

But I have no problem with Colledge, Dietrich-Smith, Sitton, Spitz and Wells in the middle... of course they could be upgraded... but the team needs OT that can start if needed more than upgrading those five....

I disagree a team won't go anywhere with a bad OLine.

The Steelers OLine was widely criticised as major weakness the years they won the Superbowl.

We need someone to man LT but after that I'm not pulling my hair out at the rest of these guys.

Nobody has said it because they know how potentially ugly it could be, especially if he wins the job...

Allen Barbre has to go in the mix at left guard. There. I said it.

He has been called "our most athletic lineman", and he did take all the reps at RT, and he looked GREAT in the pre-season at RT.

...Before his turnstile gear snapped and everyone went through him like crap through a goose.

I think he has proven that he can't play tackle.

Now he has to prove that he can't play left guard, either.

Bitch is, he'll probably win the friggin' job in camp...

THEN where will we be, worry-wise...??!!

I think they should just give him a shot at DE. He has good size and "athletic ability" for it but he is certainly not an offensive lineman.

We're set on the left side, and I'd say probably at center too. Spitz and Colledge can compete for LG. Colledge can play, but that experience at LT this past year got into his head. If he can pull his head out of his ass and get it together, he can be the guy there. Otherwise, Spitz gets the nod, as he can back up the center too.
This draft is deep in LTs, as I understand it. Ted Thompson will get somebody. We'll have more than one viable option. MARK IT DOWN!

It wasn't long ago that Colledge and Spitz were ahead of Wells and Sitton. But Wells and Sitton outperformed Colledge and Spitz, and Spitz is coming off back surgery Nov. 4 that ended his season after five games.

this quote from this article is a little off base.

First, nobody was ahead of Sitton. He won the RG spot for 08 until injury. Wells did not out perform Spitz. Spitz moved to LG when Colledge went to cover for Clifton injury. Then Spitz got hurt.

Other than that, I think we would be best off with Spitz, Wells, Sitton and Lang going into camp with Tauscher there to back up on one side. Now find somebody to beat out Clifton.

That's a great point with Sitton. He's always been one of the coache's favorite. They've always raved about him. I see the similarities with T.J. Lang to be honest in the way the coaches gush about him. Hopefully they're as right about him as they were Sitton.
